What we’re about
This group is for Black L.A. & Inglewood natives, transplants, vistors, or those who support us. Events will primarily include meet & greets and social gatherings, but will also be customized to fit the preferences of the group. Some will also be business oriented. Your age or gender doesn't matter. Also in the context, L.A. means L.A. County or the surrounding areas.

See all- Day Trip To San Diego Via AmtrakNeeds location
Hello, I'm proud to announce our 1st day trip of the year to San Diego.
1.) We will be traveling by train (Amtrak) to get to & from one of the most popular cities in the U.S. Tickets are $36 one way, or $72 round trip. Kids tickets between ages 2-12 are $18 per trip. Seniors (65 years or older) get 10% off per trip. The approximate travel time from Los Angeles to San Diego is 2 hours & 40 minutes. Please be aware of this. To purchase, please use:
https://www.amtrak.com/home.html
or
1-800-872-7245
Each passenger is allowed 2 bag (50lb limit) & 2 personal items (25lb limit).2.) Here are the times & specific train numbers that we will be on. Pick the ones that best fits your schedule:
Amtrak departing from Los Angeles Union Station (800 North Alameda St Los Angeles, CA 90012) to San Diego - Old Town Station (4005 Taylor Street San Diego, CA 92110):- 6:10am 562 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 8:50am
- 7:10am 564 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 9:50am
- 10:10am 770 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 12:53pm
Amtrak departing from San Diego * Old Town Station to Los Angeles Union Station:
- 5:10pm 587 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 8:04pm
- 7:10pm 591 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 9:57pm
LAST TRAIN GOING BACK TO LOS ANGELES:
- 9:10pm 595 Pacific Surfliner, arriving at 11:57pm
3.) Old Town Trolley Tour
For this Day Trip, we will be using the trolley to get around San Diego. The trolley route has 12 stops & covers 25 miles of both San Diego & the City of Coronado (which is the peninsula adjacent to San Diego). It take about 2 hours to complete 1 trolley tour. You can get off & get back on the trolley as many times as you want, at no additional costs; but one Trolley can only seat 35-37 people. In my opinion, this is the best & most efficient way to navigate the area without driving, paying parking fees, or ridesharing. HOWEVER... the ONLY goes forward in alphabetical order, according to their stop list on the map. It does not go in reverse order at any point or time. Also, the daytime Trolley stops service at 6pm. Please refer to their website & the photo of the schedule that I posted. After 6pm, a Night Light Tour begins with a completely different ticket price. The details of this are separate from the original Trolley Tour. So to avoid paying additional fee and/or for rideshare service, be on the last few Trolleys on time en route back to Stop A (our starting point, Old Town San Diego State Park). For reference, our 1st stop on the Trolley is 10-15mins walking distance of the Amtrak train.
Tickets range between $46-$56. They can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person at 6 trolley stops. Please use the information below to get any additional information:

4.) Activities
There are several activities/venues that will be available during our trip. Some will be at Old Town State Park. Others will be along the trolley route.
Here's a brief breakdown of each category.
A. Old Town State Park:
. Old Town Tequila Factory Restaurant & Cantina (Opens at 4PM). 2467 Juan St. San Diego, CA 92110. 1-619-260-8124. https://oldtowntequilafactory.com/ ... They have rooftop dining
. Cafe Coyote. 2461 San Diego Ave San Diego, CA 92110. 1-619-291-4695. https://www.cafecoyoteoldtown.com/ ... This venue has a really nice outdoor vibe, but it looks like it gets crowded quick.
. Churchill Cigar Lounge. 2415 San Diego Ave San Diego, CA 92110. 1-619-546-7758 ... This is a small venue with an outside corridor area.
B. Trolley Route:
. Stop E (Seaport Village, 825 West Harbor Dr). This is where you will find the San Diego SEAL Tour... sealtours.com ... 1-619-821-9444 . Tickets range from $59 in the morning to $64 in the afternoon. This combo water/land tour is 1 hour 40 minutes. If bought early online or over the phone, it can be packaged with the Trolley Tour at a discounted rate.
. Stop F (Marriott Marquis & Marina, 333 W. Harbor Dr San Diego 92101/480 4th Ave). https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/sandt-marriott-marquis-san-diego-marina/overview/?scid=f2ae0541-1279-4f24-b197-a979c79310b0 1-619-234-1500 . The interior bistro & outside area would be a great place to have lunch.
. Stop G (Historic Gaslamp Quarter). There are several bars & eateries in this area.
. Stop J (Coronado-Orange Ave, 1107 Orange Ave). This is a beach/tourist area on an island/peninsula
. Stop K (Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo, approx 2175 Presidents Way). sandiegozoo.org 1-619-718-3000 ... There are multiple safari esque tours available, either by golf cart or bus.5.) Tentative Itinerary
Due to the Trolley only going forwards (not backwards) and also ending at 6pm, I suggest to do the activities in order, according to the route. Please refer to the map in the event photos. So here's a schedule that might help:
