With a user friendly interface and Web 2.0 capabilities right out of the box, WordPress has become one of the most popular blogging platforms to date. Students, small businesses, and corporations all use WordPress daily for their web posting needs.
But is WordPress limited to blogging?
In this presentation we’ll discuss how WordPress can be used as a foundation for developing all kinds of web applications including online stores, custom content management systems, and complete social networks.
Presenter Bio (Michael Jenkins-Brown)
In addition to managing engineering software and running small businesses, Michael combines his technical background and his passion for journalism as a professional blogger. He has been writing for his own website South Bay Foodies since 2008, covering food and beverage news around Los Angeles.
He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Los Angeles Chapter of Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA). Through both organizations, he actively mentors high school students to introduce them to the limitless possibilities of a career based on science, technology, engineering, or math.
