Ireland has a strong growing blockchain industry with more and more companies exploring this nascent and disruptive technology. Given the growth and opportunities in the sector, the mission of BlockW is to facilitate and drive conversation on the possibilities of blockchain technology for women in Ireland.

By providing a platform for communication, education, and the discussion of ideas, the group aims to bridge the gap between the impossible and possible for women in blockchain. The group will focus on building awareness around blockchain career opportunities across all industries and sectors.

We explore digital assets, blockchain protocols, and emerging blockchain-related topics, with the aim to educate & inspire associates, build products and services, and research & advance the ecosystem. Established in 2014, we have created more than 50 POC’s, hosted both internal and external events focused on important topics in the industry, and spun out our Fidelity Digital Asset business. Katie Chase - Head of Strategy, Planning and Innovation Integration Katie Chase is an SVP in the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT). FCAT is an innovation catalyst within Fidelity. FCAT’s mission is to help Fidelity’s clients, businesses and associates imagine the possibilities of new ideas and emerging technologies that enhance the customer experience and spur Fidelity’s growth. At FCAT, Katie leads strategy development and the innovation services team, which aims to share the practices employed by the FCAT incubators. She’s also responsible for the blockchain incubator, which is exploring the disruptive potential of blockchain technologies. Prior to joining FCAT, Katie was an SVP in Fidelity’s Strategy & Planning Group, focused on Fidelity’s enterprise strategy and multi- year plan development efforts. Before working on enterprise strategy and planning, Katie was an SVP in the Fidelity Consulting Group, where she was responsible for the group’s relationship with Fidelity Institutional (FI). Before joining Fidelity, Katie worked at Chatham Partners, a financial services consulting and market research firm, and was a consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Katie received her bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University and her MBA from Sloan School of Management at MIT.
