Cordially invited to the first Blockchain Tech Meetup in Malta on Wednesday, September 12th at 18:00. Meetup will be held at Hilton Malta – Portomaso.

Agenda:

18:00 - 18:30 | Voting on Ethereum Blockchain

Lecture about advantages and disadvantages of voting implementation on Ethereum network. We will explore feasibility of incorporating it and consider a few different use cases. Various technical and non-technical aspects will be considered.

Presentation will be held by Jan Turk, experienced blockchain developer and consultant on several Ethereum and Hyperledger projects, author of an EIP, founder of //JAsociety blockchain collective, Cisco Academy Instructor, and student researcher and developer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (LTFE).

18:30 - 19:00 | Insight Into the Crypto Trading Facility

We’ll dive into the back-end of high performance crypto-asset trading facility and the processes behind the curtain of order matching. We'll compare trading behavior on traditional and crypto exchanges and show some examples of market manipulation.

Presentation will be held by Jernej Makovsek, holistic software engineer and IT professional, has led development of several complex software systems, most recently with Blocktrade AG, Bitstamp Ltd, and Reciprocity Inc.

19:00 – 19:30 | Maltese Blockchain Regulatory Framework and the Role of Service Providers

Presentation about the new Maltese regulatory framework with discussion on recent updates and requirements for both corporate service providers (VFA agents, custodians, auditors) and companies seeking licensing (exchanges, token issuers etc.).

Our guest will be Antonio Giannino, group head of risk & compliance at Amagis Capital, and keynote speaker at several risk management and fintech conferences.
