Move fast and fix things: a healthful approach to blockchain for development

1. WHAT IS DENOMINATOR?

Denominator (http://denominatorgroup.org) is a Geneva-based social impact venture. We work to improve lives in the developing world by fully leveraging blockchain and other innovations to maximize the impact of health interventions. Through bridging the knowledge gap between concept and real-world implementation, we champion equal access to life-saving solutions in the places that need them most.

Supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Denominator is working with academics, healthcare workers and health agencies in Kenya to test the life-saving potential of vaccine supply chains enhanced with blockchain technology.

In order for the development world to harness the rising tide of blockchain innovations to achieve our Global Goals, each solution must be expertly tailored to solve the problems that matter most to the world’s most vulnerable. In this environment, building a successful social business requires more than a good idea and seed funding – it demands tactical agility and constant engagement with the communities you serve.

2. WHAT WILL WE TALK ABOUT?

On Tuesday, Denominator’s Lisa Leenhouts-Martin and Roice Fulton will share their approach to co-creating sustainable and impactful blockchain solutions. They will examine how blockchain for development startups can benefit from creating an ecosystem that aligns the aims of their business with those of international development NGOs, industry, academia, and countries – and most importantly, those of the children and families whose lives we touch.
