11η Συνάντηση για το Bitcoin και τα κρυπτονομίσματα

Το πρόγραμμα για την πρώτη συνάντηση του 2017 θα είναι:

20.30 - 21.30 Ανοχτή συζήτηση: ανωνυμία και/ή τυχαίoτητα με τεχνολογία blockchain — Κώστας Καρασάββας

Αλλάξαμε τη ατζέντα που έχουμε συνήθως στις συναντήσεις μας. Αυτή τη φορά δε θα κάνουμε εισαγωγική παρουσίαση μιας και έχουμε δύο πολύ ενδιαφέροντα προχωρημένα θέματα και θα ήθελα να έχουμε την ευκαιρία να εμβαθύνουμε αν θέλουμε στο τέλος με ανοιχτή συζήτηση. Σκοπεύουμε όμως να αφιερώσουμε την επόμενη συνάντηση στην εισαγωγή νέων μελών στο Bitcoin, σε άλλα κρυπτονομίσματα και στην τεχνολογία του blockchain γενικότερα.

Πρώτα έχουμε μια εισαγωγή στο Monero, ένα κρυπτονόμισμα που έχει ως κύριο σκοπό την ανωνυμία το οποίο απέκτησε μεγάλη δημοτηκότητα τον τελευταίο χρόνο και μετά θα απολαύσουμε μια ομιλία από την ομάδα της NewCrypt που θα μας εξηγήσουν πως χρησιμοποίησαν την εντροπία που έχουν τα κρυπτονομίσματα για να δημιουργήσουν μια πλατφόρμα που επιτρέπει τυχαίες ακολουθίες οι οποίες μπορούν να επιβεβαιωθούν απόλυτα με μαθηματικό τρόπο (κάτι που είναι πολύ σημαντικό σε πολλές εφαρμογές).

Το περιβάλλον είναι χαλαρό και θα υπάρχουν πολλές ευκαιρίες για να μάθουμε και φυσικά για να γνωριστούμε.

We have changed the usual format of our meetup. This time we are not going to have an introductory presentation since we have two very interesting advanced topics and I would like to have the opportunity to discuss/elaborate further before the end in an open discussion. We do intend to dedicate the next meetup for introducing newcomers into Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology in general.

First we have an introduction to Monero a cryptocurrency focused on anonymity which has gained tremendous support over the last year and then we are going to enjoy a talk from the NewCrypt team explaining how they used the entropy introduced by blockchains to create a platform that allows verifiable randomness (a very important aspect of many applications).

The environment is casual and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and more importantly get to know each other.
