Time to build Applications that #CantBeEvil
In lieu of Can't be Evil 2 app development contest, we're hosting two hacking sessions to support the Bangalore community in developing some Blockstack apps.
By developing a #cantbeevil app, you'll not only produce something really cool and good for your users but you'll have the chance to win up to $15,000 cash plus other prizes. See contest details at https://blockstack-evil2.devpost.com/
This is the first of two sessions that Blockstack Bangalore is hosting to support developers in building apps on blockstack.
Agenda:
- Welcome & Introduction
- Introduction to Blockstack - 15 mins ( Helps the newbies to understand Blockstack )
- Reflecting on Can't Be Evil 1 and demo winning apps. - 20 mins
- Introduce Can't Be Evil 2 - 10 mins
- Hacking live
Part 1 - Blockstack Auth - 60 mins
Break for Lunch - 30 Mins
Part 2 - Gaia Storage - 60 mins - Networking
We'll kick this meetup off with some light socializing and then lunch sponsored by Blockstack (vegan and vegetarian options available).
During lunch, Wilson, Kartik, and Shankar will give a brief overview of Blockstack and it's use-cases and inner workings. Then we'll have a brief collaboration session that will give people the opportunity to find co-developers (if desired), present ideas, ask questions, and get feedback.
From there (around 1:00), it's work work work! We'll take a few little breaks in between, but the goal will be to have at least a good, solid start on your app by the time you leave, which you can continue to work on over the following week.
NOTE that this is not a hackathon in the traditional sense: You are encouraged to get a head start on your app before coming to the session, and you're allowed to keep working on it afterward!
What we want is to give you space and resources to build a cool application that you can submit to rep Bangalore in the contest and win the prize!
We strongly recommend you complete the introductory ("Zero-to-Dapp") tutorial at https://docs.blockstack.org/develop/zero_to_dapp_1.html before coming to the session.
The session will be held at our normal gathering spot, LocationPlease post any questions to the message board, and check out the resources below to get started!
