- Blockstack NYC Meetup #3: Enterprise Applications
Welcome to the third Blockstack NYC Meetup! Blockstack is a new decentralized web, where users own their data and apps run on user devices without the need for servers. We have a community of over 1,200 developers and 60,000 users. For this meetup we will focus on enterprise applications of Blockstack. There has been a lot of interest and hype around applications of blockchains in banking, IoT, and cloud & telco infrastructure. However, so far we're only seeing small proof-of-concepts and not real deployments. Blockstack is the largest non-financial production system running on the Bitcoin blockchain and provides a general platform for secure naming, authentication, and storage. We'll discuss potential use cases of Blockstack for large enterprises and hear from Microsoft about how they're using Blockstack.
