Put your virtual (or literal) party hats on VR pioneers because the next Meetup is going to be at Points South Latin Kitchen in Fells Point! Happy hour prices will offered for the duration of the Meetup.
We are continuing with our open "Science Fair" layout, meaning we will have demos from great local companies. Come try out the latest VR/AR experiences and hardware!
For the first time in Bmore VR Meetup History we will have a Robo Recall Tournament! Rouge robots beware!
If you'd like to show off a VR/AR project, please contact [masked]
Demos (besides Robo Recall!):
Digital History Studios: They've been producing 3D animation segments for over 20 years, specializing in recreating historic places, events and subjects for a variety of projects and platforms and will be showing examples. They also produce VR content for both 360 3D rendered animation and for realtime/interactive VR projects.
Space Telescope Science Center: Showcasing their VR “classroom” that was designed to help bring public attention to the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope.
Look On Media: Plans on demoing the Virtual Reality Museum that was shown at Light City Baltimore 2017 for anyone who missed it.
Mosaic Learning: Works with the building and construction trades to provide interactive training courses and are currently working with several different Unions to develop 360 video training, AR content with HoloLens and room-scale VR training using the Oculus Rift.
Nick Clinkscales, Julien Van Putten and J.S. Gleason: These three MICA students will be showingTalewinds, a prototype VR airship game, and KRAZAM!, a VR physics based puzzle game that's currently in development.
Balti Virtual: Showcasing new designs for their Augmented Reality Temporary Tattoos for kids called "HoloTats".
MixedRiver/Bully Entertainment - showing off HoloLens work including Holographic Blasteroids, a Mercedes POC and the holographic version of a platform we're currently installing for the Baltimore Ravens called Pre-Game Prep.
Thalum & Dale/Bully Entertainment - try out the prototype of our survival horror VR game for the HTC Vive called Wandering Light: A remote Alaskan power plant has gone off-line. Sent as part of a reconnaissance team to investigate, your helicopter crashes, killing everyone else and leaving you stranded in a town overrun with hundreds of glowing eyed mutants. Your only friend is a bat-sh*t crazy vet, his high-powered hunting rifle and the promise of radio contact - if you can fix the radio in time… Think you can you survive the night of the Wandering Light?
Dusty Peterson - One Jump Short is a Sci-fi Space thriller that pits your will to survive against your ability to multitask. The sole controller of a massive, FTL capable interstellar shipping barge, it's your job to command maintenance drones, plot hyperspace jumps, and perform delicate docking operations. When your ship is suddenly overcome with an infestation of horrific alien creatures, you'll need to juggle everything you know to make your way home before you're overrun!
