What we're about

If you live in Birmingham or The West Midlands and enjoy playing various card games and board games, feel free to join us! We have games for casual gamers or those who are new to boardgaming, and also for more regular gamers who are immersed in the addictive world of Modern Tabletop.

We have several regular board/card game venues in Birmingham City centre, but also include events at other local venues such as in Sutton Coldfield, Moseley, Wolverhampton, Erdington, Jewellery Quarter, etc.

We also aim to hold events on different days of the week. We already have regular game nights on certain slots during the month, but would welcome other organizers who would like to arrange games events on any slots that are free.

Our event nights are fully hosted, and we can all bring our games along. We promote proper group social boardgaming, so we don't normally promote events at cafes and shops (i.e. businesses) where you may play board games at any time, but you may find nobody else there to play with, or nobody inviting you to join a game.

Birmingham Central Boardgaming: Evening Tabletop

See main event text

Monthly Gaming.... Next Installment We have booked a room at THE WOODMAN PUB, NEW CANAL STREET, EASTSIDE, BIRMINGHAM, B5 5LG. This will be the upstairs room. We normally run these events on the SECOND MONDAY and LAST MONDAY of each month at one of our regular venues, with a longer daytime event on the MIDDLE SUNDAY of each month. We have a collection of around 300 tabletop board games (including a wide range of card games, strategy games, secret identity games and fun games etc) to choose from. We rotate them every month, so there will always be variety. We tend to bring a cargo load to choose from! But feel free to bring other similar games of your own. This is intended as a low-cost evening, but please do keep the publican happy with something from behind the bar, perhaps one of their fine real ales or a cuppa if their waft of home cooking isn't overpowering enough. To make it easiest for you to jump into a game straight away, it's best to arrive at the start of the session and stay on, plus it's worth trying new games as well as ones we already know how to play. Location and parking Parking is possible in nearby roads, though perfect for public transport. The pub is a distinctive building directly opposite Millennium Point. Arriving Early after work? You could always eat between 6 & 7pm. The food is good there! Future Dates For This Event: We meet on the second and last Monday-Evenings of each month in The Woodman. We also meet on the Mid-Sunday-Afternoon of each month in the Rosevilla Tavern. Occasional extra events are now being held at The Bull Inn. New Members and Guests welcome! Please RSVP separately to each event you plan to attend.
