What we’re about
The Bodhi Path Buddhist Center in Rockville, Maryland offers a regular schedule of meditation sessions, discussion of Buddhist texts and philosophy for Buddhists and non-Buddhists. All programs are open to members of the public, no matter what the depth of their experience with Buddhism or meditation. Most programs occur at the Center, but some lectures by visiting lamas or teachers take place at public facilities in northwest Washington and suburban Maryland. Lamas and highly trained teachers from Asia and Europe visit the Center throughout the year to give special courses and lectures over the course of a week or two.
Our center is convenient to Northwest Washington DC, Potomac, Rockville, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg and Germantown. All are welcome.

See all- Mahayana Buddhist’ Vows and Nyungne PracticeUnitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville, Rockville, MD
Bodhi Path DC is happy to host Shenyen Lama Jampa who will give Mahayana Vows and teach on the profound practice of Nyungne.
Mahayana practitioners who have taken Refuge and the Bodhisattva Vow may wonder how best to practice Buddhism and make progress along the path. With that interest in mind, Shenyen Lama Jampa will provide an introduction to the Five Upāsaka/Upāsikā Precepts, the Mahayana Sojong Vow and an overview of the Nyungne Fasting practice.
Interested participants may join the session in person or online and we will also have an online translator assist Lama Jampa with his translation.
Bodhi Path DC is a nonprofit funded by donations.

Lama Jampa is humble, soft-spoken, and always willing to help with the dharmic needs of all he meets.
