Please bring your laptops to this quarters meet up! We will be setting up a GCP instance, running data lab, and querying (big) data in our first talk by Sarah Ewing from zData Inc.
The second talk will be by Chip Keyes titled "March Madness – Predicting the NCAA Tournament Using Machine Learning." He will do this by encoding of two competitors (teams) in a binary win/loss classification model. Looking at how different models (Logistic Regression, Random Forest, AdaBoost, Neural Nets) perform and some interesting feature analysis in the domain of the NCAA tournament. The context is set by the Kaggle NCAA tournament challenge, if you want to look at the data before the meet-up.
Remember that after the talks, we go to the Tap House across the street and network. As always we are in BSU computer science department at 777 West Main St. Boise, ID 83702 Boise, ID (CCP) room 260.
