Workshop Meeting
Workshops (informal discussions) are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month. This open format encourages discussion and sharing of fruits and information. Bring in your fruits, plants, seeds, leaves, insects, photos, recipes, etc. There always seems to be a local expert on hand, so it's a great chance to get answers to specific questions, share your fruit growing experiences, and get better acquainted with like minded people in the community.

What we're about

Bonita Springs Tropical Fruit Club began in the 1980's as a group of people enthusiastic about growing exotic tropical fruits in SWFL. Though meetings are always well attended, we began posting on meetup.com* in 2016 as a way to spread info and attract new members. We welcome visitors, but expect that after after attending two or three meetings you will choose to become a member. Membership dues are $15 per person yearly (or $25 per household).

We meet to gain information, education and advice regarding the selection and cultivation of tropical and subtropical fruiting plants and trees, and enjoy social interaction with like minded people. In addition to learning from each other, we have an expert speaker on the 2nd Tuesday evening of each month. We also meet on the 4th Tuesday evening of each month for an informal workshop meeting where there is an opportunity to ask questions of club experts, share our experiences, etc. At most meetings locally grown fruit is available to sample--such as atemoya, avocado, citrus, grumichama, jaboticaba, mango, mulberry, sapodilla, sapote, or whatever happens to be in season in our yards.

*NOTE: Most of our long-term members are still unaccustomed to RSVPing on meetup.com. You'll find lots more people at meetings than the meetup site indicates. Don't let small RSVP numbers keep you away.
