Helm
Deploying applications to Kubernetes can be a very complex process. Even for a simple application, one has to deal with many interdependent Kubernetes resources such as deployments, pods, services, etc… Fortunately, there is Helm, a package manager for Kubernetes which helps define, install, and upgrade even the most complex Kubernetes applications. In this session we will provide an overview of Helm and will demonstrate how you can create and deploy a Helm Chart into a Kubernetes cluster.
Iosif Igna: Iosif Igna is a Senior Software Architect with more than 18 years of software development and architecture experience in international contexts and culturally diverse settings. He has joined the Architecture Team at Talend in September 2017 and has been focusing on the adoption and implementation of new technologies like Kubernetes and Helm.
Continuous Deployment with Helm and K8s
In this talk we would like to present our approach to a cloud agnostic continuous delivery pipeline with Jenkins, k8s and helm. We will demonstrate how the creation of CI pipelines can easily be automated, how helm simplifies the deployment of k8s applications and how these pipelines enables your team to make a big steps towards a real DevOps culture.
Florian Zink: Florian Zink is a Site Reliability Engineer at Talend and responsible for automating every step from building the software to deploying it to the cloud. He is the lead of the SRE SCRUM Tech team, which works side by side with the developers to inspire a true DevOps culture and to deliver services that are cloud native. Or at least cloud ready 😊. His mantra: Hope is not a strategy!
Marco Buccini: Marco Buccini is a Software Engineer at Talend and working on microservices for the Platform Services Team. He is very passionate about designing solutions that satisfy the customers and also make use of the best technologies for the job. He embraces the ‘You build it, you run it’ philosophy and thus, works very closely with his SRE colleagues on delivering services that are meant for the cloud.
About the Sponsor: Talend is a leader in cloud data integration and data integrity. We enable companies to transform their business by delivering trusted data at the speed of business.
