As you can tell by the title, this is not your typical book club. We are an inclusive group of friendly, open individuals who enjoy reading books but prefer intimate conversation and getting to know each other better over cocktails. If you've ever been to one of our events, you know we rarely talk about the book.
(Edit: 12/8/16) There are many people who are on the waitlist for these events. If you RSVP for 3 or more events but do not attend, you will be removed from the group.
The past groups hikes have been a success so I'm arranging to take the group out to one of my favorite trails!
Mormon Trailhead is listed as moderate on AllTrails and has a significant elevation gain in the beginning of the trail. After the initial pain, I mean gain, it's fairly flat and easy with some really great views and rock formations.
After the hike, we'll make our way to The Farm to devour their amazing sandwiches and salads.
Parking is very limited at the trailhead; however, there is overfill parking on the street along 24th St.
This is a really great brewery located in Phoenix. Traffic may be an issue for some. Feel free to show up between 6-8pm. They have $1 off drafts before 6pm, which I'm going to try to take advantage of by arriving a bit early.
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson was highly recommended by one of our members and is noted to be as suspenseful as Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. It tells the story of 2 strangers who meet in an airport bar, share a little too much information over martinis, and start to hatch a dangerous plan they may or may not pursue.
Let's read it and chat about it over Cornish pasties and beer!
