This group is for women in their late 20's to early 40's who love reading and discussing books and who also like drinking and talking about wine. We will meet once a month around Miami at various restaurants to enjoy wine, sometimes cocktails, always food, and to discuss good books. The book club will be non-fiction heavy but with a novel thrown in here and there.
Since we will be meeting at restaurants, the meetings will be limited to 10 people. This makes for a more cohesive discussion platform as well. So sign up early to get a seat!
Wow it was so nice seeing you all and catching up! As much as I would've loved to have seen you all in person, I'm really thankful for Zoom!
So the next book was recommended by Anusha and it looks really interesting. It's called The Woman Who Says No: Françoise Gilot on Her Life With and Without Picasso by Malte Herwig. I'm really looking forward to reading this. An excerpt from a review: "In her early nineties, she generously shared her hospitality and wisdom with Herwig, who started out as an interviewer but found himself drawn into the role of pupil as Gilot, whom he called “a philosopher of joy,” shared with him different ways of seeing the world."
Our meeting will be another Zoom meeting unless we get out of jail. In all seriousness, I hope you and all your loved ones are healthy and safe. And I hope all our collective efforts of isolation will pay off and save lives.
