B&B December Meeting: Discuss "The Sellout" by Paul Beatty

  • This location is shown only to members

  • Everyone, please join us at Zorba's [masked]th St NW) at 7pm on Monday, December 12 to discuss the "The Sellout" by Paul Beatty.  The book is 305 pages long.

The winner of the 2016 Man Booker Prize, Paul Beatty's The Sellout showcases a comic genius at the top of his game. A biting satire about a young man's isolated upbringing and the race trial that sends him to the Supreme Court, it challenges the sacred tenets of the United States Constitution, urban life, the civil rights movement, the father-son relationship, and the holy grail of racial equality—the black Chinese restaurant.

The book is available from Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MLN1TT0/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

Comedian/podcaster Marc Maron: "Also, since I’ve been off Twitter I started reading a novel which I rarely do because my attention span is so shattered all the time. It is probably the most satisfying, spectacular explosion of language and humor I have read in years, maybe ever. It’s call ‘The Sellout’ by Paul Beatty. Powerful verbal fireworks of satire. Rich. Snag it. I’m going to try to talk to him."
