"Books & Brunch" is a private, invitation-only, nonfiction-only reading group that meets on the 2nd Saturday of odd months (January, March, May, July, September, and November) at 11:00 a.m. for potluck brunch and a discussion of that month's selection. Books are chosen from various subgenres of nonfiction, such as biography, memoir, history, science, philosophy, criticism, commentary, essays, and humor, to name a few. Selections include classics as well as contemporary titles.
Everything is better with food, of course, so each meeting is also a potluck brunch! Attendees are welcome to bring any books they no longer wish to keep, to swap with others. Any books left after the meeting will be donated to the local library.
We like to keep this an active group of regulars who are (or become) friends, so if you haven’t attended a meeting or visited the Meetup page in over 6 months, or if the Organizers receive complaints (or observe firsthand) that you have behaved in an obnoxious or rude manner, or that your presence otherwise undermines the friendly nature of our gatherings, you may be dropped from the group.
