Boomers Connect in Upstate SC

Hi all, time to walk and talk again! Let's socialize and have breakfast followed by a walk approximately 2 miles depending on the group. I will monitor the weather.

The Boomers Connect in Upstate SC Meetup Group does not officially collect dues through the Meetup web site. We prefer to have a voluntary system. You can give your Event Host or one of the Organizers your contribution at an event. We have no set minimum but recommend $5.00 annually.

Time for the second annual hike and lunch around beautiful Pinnacle lake at Table Rock State Park in near Pickens. We'll take the relatively easy 1.9 mile hike around Pinnacle Lake, we'll go a bit slower this year to enjoy the beauty. The Mountain Laurels should still be blooming and some wildflowers are starting to pop up.

Let's meet at the Ingles parking lot in Pickens by the store sign at 9:30 AM, bit earlier than last year in case it's a hot day. From there we'll drive 20 minutes to Table Rock State Park and meetup at the Lakeside Pavilion, same as last year. If you have a State Parks pass, everyone in that vehicle gets in, otherwise I believe it's $6 a car. I have a pass and can accomodate 4.

Let's do the same potluck for lunch as last year but instead of grilling, maybe some cold chicken or sandwiches or any other ideas you have for a main course, plus let's see those wonderful homemade sides, salads, dips and chips, and deserts everyone contributed last year. Remember, homemade or you may end up in the lake! I definitely want to see that Texas caviar again, who brought that last year? Please post in the comments what you want to bring and we will also need table cloths, utensils, plates, plastic silverware, and napkins. Bring what you want to drink and I recommend water for the hike.

Last year we hadn't had rain in a while but being early in year the streams should be flowing so we can take a quick side trip on the way back for those who would like to see the gorgeous Twin Falls. Short detour on the way back with an easy 10 minute walk to the falls.
