Sports Photojournalism - with Al Levine
This BPG meeting will be an interview with our member, Al Levine. Al’s professional life was in sports journalism. He started with the Miami News as a staff writer covering high school sports. He progressed to covering the University of Miami and the Miami Dolphins and was the winner of five state sports writing awards. He published a book titled The Miami Dolphins: Football’s Greatest Team, [Prentice-Hall, Library of Congress No. [masked]].
Al joined the Fort Lauderdale News as Executive Sports Editor and later joined the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as Assistant Sports Editor and Graphics Editor. In his final eight years he covered the NASCAR Nextel Cup series. He won the 2000 National Motorsports Writer of the Year award. Presently, Al is a freelance photographer and writer with clients including Bryn-Alan Studio, Racing Milestones magazine, NASCAR Insider magazine, West Georgia Junior Rodeo Association and Johns Creek High basketball boosters.
