We will start our meeting in the multi-purpose room and branch out into the other 3 meeting rooms.
'BoroDev HackNights is going to be a group of developers & designers who want to learn new technologies through active projects working in an open source environment within our Murfreesboro Community. We have created an organization on Github https://github.com/borodevmeetup. Our first project will touch every aspect of a full stack application from design to development from frontend development to backend development to DevOps as well as using MySQL Database. We will need designers to design out the UX for the project before our second meetup. So if you are a designer interested PLEASE contact me directly. We will break off into 5 separate teams. You can choose to work on more than one team. The teams will be Designers, Frontend Devs, Backend Devs, DevOps & DB Devs. These are guidelines but the focus of this group is all about collaborating on new technologies. We will make A LOT of mistakes and breaking the code. So don't worry about feeling like you n eed to have all the answers. We have created a trello board https://trello.com/b/HpQFd88f/borodev-hack-... where the features will live as well as for the designer to drop in their designs after we come up with features list on the first meetup. We will create the git repos ahead of time for each team to work on, so the time spent during each HackNights will be asking questions and/or coming up with new features. BUT the majority of the coding/designing will be outside of the meetup. I have created a new channel in 'BoroDev Slack Workspace called #hacknights this is where we can discuss and/or ask any questions regarding the meetup and/or the projects we are working on.
To keep this organized, I will be considered the product owner, so I'll have the final say on what features we ultimately move forward with.
The idea of HackNights is still fairly new, and not completely tested. SO if you have any suggestions or ideas to make this a better experience for everyone PLEASE share them with me directly. Thanks! :)
