Sail on the Charles (weekday)

This one is tentatively scheduled for the week of July 22. Probably Wednesday the 24th or Thursday the 25th. I'll pick the date later based on weather forecasts.

The time will be early though - you need to be able to get there by 5:30.

We will probably be done with sailing by about 7:30 or so. If people are okay grabbing a late dinner, we could combine this with a beers/dinner event. Maybe going out for Korean-style Chinese food again.

Best way to get to CBI is to get off at the Charles/MGH T station (red line). Once you're out of the T station, look for the foot bridge to the left of the Longfellow bridge, that takes you over Storrow Drive and to the Esplanade. The boat house is right by the foot bridge.

Please bear in mind this is around rush hour, so traffic will be terrible. And parking is problematic in the area as well (although you can park at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary parking lot, and I can get your parking ticket validated for $7. However the entrance to this lot is not easy to find if it's your first time, and if you miss it, you'll easily lose 15+ minutes). So please be sure you can get there on time.

If your situation changes, and you can't make it, please update your RSVP to "no" as soon as possible.

If this is your first time at Community Boating, ask for a guest waiver form at the front desk and fill it out. You should also ask for a guest card.

If you've been to CBI before, bring your guest card. It's $5 to get a replacement card, if you don't bring it.

Sailing sometimes involves getting splashed with water, so you want to wear something you don't mind getting a bit of Charles river water on.

They have day lockers. Bring a lock if you want to use one.
