Fast, secure, reliable and engaging applications are no longer confined to native platforms. New technologies and design patterns allow us to build software on the web that competes with desktop and mobile experiences.

Progressive Web Applications finally deliver a cross-platform user experience on the worlds most widely distributed, open, and advanced application runtime: the browser.

We’ll discuss how you can leverage your web development skills and experience to build Progressive Web Apps today!

A bit about our presenter:

Christopher Plummer (@intrusionsignal (https://twitter.com/intrusionsignal)) is a web engineer, but he didn't always write code. He spent the first decade of his career working in film and television, where he designed, decorated, and built sets. In 2012 Chris entered a Master's Program at Northeastern where he studied Interactive Design and Development and has been writing code ever since.

He is excited about the open web, accessibility, JavaScript, Clojure, and solving problems before writing code. Chris currently works at Upstatement (http://upstatement.com). He also co-organizes the Boston Ember Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Boston-Ember-js/).

General details:
