The BCBB seminar series is getting off to a great start April 1. Our inaugural seminar will feature presentations from two prominent Boston-area computational biologists as well as pizza and a bar, all within the Microsoft NERD community event space in Kendall Square. This event has been brought to you with sponsorship from Flynn Life Sciences Group.
5:30 - 6:30: Networking, pizza, and cash bar.
6:30 - 6:40: Opening remarks.
6:45 - 7:15: Validated, scalable, community developed variant calling: Brad Chapman, Bioinformatics Core, Harvard Chan School.
7:15 - 7:45: Clues for the Clueless: Enoch Huang, Head of Computational Sciences, Pfizer R&D.
7:45 - 9:00: Networking and cash bar
We’re thrilled to be kicking off the seminar series with such a strong program, and deeply grateful to our presenters. Brad will be presenting on work developing scalable and validated variant calling as part of the bcbio project (https://github.com/chapmanb/bcbio-nextgen), while Enoch will offer career advice and talk about industry trends as viewed from a leadership role in pharma. BCBB will continue to offer regular networking nights interspersed with these seminar-style events. Please come join us and help us shape the future format for this meetup with your feedback!
Please note that Microsoft NERD requires everyone to sign in and show photo ID at the front desk when entering the building.
