BCBB Beers at Meadhall

Important note: due to a scheduling mishap with the venue, we've had to reschedule this meetup for the same time on September 21st. The organizers of BCBB are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we hope everyone who was looking forward to talking comp bio over beers on the 13th will be able to join us on the 21st!

The next edition of BCBB-takes-over-Meadhall will be held September 21st, courtesy of the great folks at DNAnexus. Come and join your friends and colleagues for a night of free food, great beer (not free), comp bio shop talk, and networking. We'll be upstairs at the Meadhall in our usual space, just look for the group of people having a spirited debate about Lasso vs Elastic Net regression next to another group comparing Kallisto to Cufflinks. (It's also okay if you just want to have normal conversations) The folks from DNAnexus have an upcoming user group meeting and are offering BCBB members a reduced rate. They are graciously providing us with a wide selection of free pub food. All computational biologists and bioinformaticians are welcome regardless of skill level, from lifelong hardcore Bayesian modelers to people who are starting to think about learning just enough programming to make science go faster. See old friends, mentors, students, and make new connections while sharing tales of comp bio triumph and woe over Meadhall's wide selection of beers.
