Abstract:

Pipeline 101

Jenkins Pipeline, the new way to write Jenkins jobs! Have you heard of it? Have people told you how awesome it is but you just haven't had the time to try it out? Have you started to look at it, but got lost, had issues or backed off for whatever reason? Have you considered using it, moving a porting of your jobs to it, but tabled it because it seems like too much work, time or you just don't have the resources? Then this is the presentation for you!

We will discuss how to get up and running with Jenkins Pipeline in no time at all. Discussing key best practices, what to do and what not to do. How to leverage shared libraries, and ensure your Jenkins Pipeline code is treated as a real development project. How to iterate and test new Pipeline code, while not impacting the production use of it. Pipeline takes a little while to get used to, but once you see how it can be leveraged, you will want to make the move to use it in your Jenkins instance. Come join me for a 101 discussion with code examples, best practices, and an open discussion on Jenkins Pipeline. Bring your questions!
