Since 1989, Boston Old Path Sangha has been practicing meditation and mindfulness in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
We have regular meetings several times a week at different locations. These are our regular "sittings"-- meetings in which we practice sitting and walking meditation, read a short passage on the dharma (Buddhist teachings), and share our insights into the teachings and trying to bring mindfulness practice into daily life. You can come to any of these sittings without RSVPing.
We also have occasional days of mindfulness, when we gather for a more extended period (usually only half a day, despite the name) to practice together a bit more intensively. These days of mindfulness often focus on some particular theme.
New people who want to learn more about meditation and mindfulness are always welcome at any of our regular sittings or days of mindfulness. One of our experienced members will be happy to introduce you to the basics of the practice and answer and questions you have.
This is our regular Saturday morning meeting. Please join us in a beautiful Vietnamese temple, where we practice sitting and walking meditation, read something related to the dharma (Buddhist teachings), and reflect on and share about our experiences trying to practice mindfulness.
All levels are welcome. Come knowing that there will always be regulars who are more than happy to guide you.
Wake Up Boston will be meeting virtually via video until further notice due to the coronavirus. Please check our facebook page for the links and updates or subscribe to our newsletter below. Be well, Wake Up Boston
Sitting and walking meditation and mindful support of each other as parents. Some of our other practices include reading, (right now from Creating True Peace), deep listening, and exercises from Dan Siegel's work (Parenting from The Inside Out). Any parents are welcome to join us.
