A group for people who are interested in outdoor adventures and international travel. Come and meet like minded Bostonians to discuss the amazing and adventurous places you dream of visiting or recount tales of adventures past. In addition to meeting up at restaurants and bars, we will occasionally take day/weekend outdoor trips.
Sandeep Nain, lead guide from Miyar Adventures will be giving a talk about what it’s like to trek to the the foot of breathtaking Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Famous for its spectacular mountain peaks and the loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants (the Sherpas), the Everest region (Khumbu) is one of the most popular mountain destinations. The best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid-May and from September to mid-November.
No technical climbing is involved and as long as you have a heart for adventure and reasonable fitness, you should be able to enjoy it. For the climbing enthusiast, the optional summits of Chhukung Ri and Kala Pattar should provided added thrills. The info session would cover
