Interested in making new connections, friends, or romance while exploring authentic ethnic food and cooking? Than join the Open Kitchens Project community. We introduce immigrant chefs at pop-up dinner events and share recipes, interests and connections online. The chefs cook food from their own family recipes at pop-up events in unique venues with 15 - 30 people. There's a conversation curator at every event who suggests open questions to start conversations and connect quickly. Join, host, or curate an event - whatever feels right for you!
A goal of the Open Kitchens Project is to coach immigrants with professional cooking experience to launch their own food startup. Events provide space for them to share their food and earn income as professional caterers/personal chef. 70% of new restaurants in the US are started by immigrants and the investment and risk is extremely high. We hope to lower the risk, provide an opportunity for them to test their food in compassionate community, and the rest of us can enjoy authentic culturally diverse food.
