Workshop: Introduction to Creating Windows 8 Apps with JavaScript & HTML

Details
In this introductory workshop, you'll learn how to build Windows 8 applications using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
We'll begin with the basics of Windows 8, creating Windows Store apps using web technologies, and how to use Visual Studio 2012 and Blend for design & development. We'll also look at the Windows Store, including various options for making money and how to prepare your app for certification.
The format is part lecture/instruction, followed by open time during which you can begin work on your app ideas, exchange ideas and troubleshoot with fellow attendees, and get additional support from the Microsoft Technical Evangelists and other Windows 8 development experts!
What do you need?
Because this includes hands-on activity, be sure to bring a laptop with Windows 8 (http://bit.ly/getw8dev) and Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 (http://www.microsoft.com/click/services/Redirect2.ashx?CR_CC=200115729) and prepare with free developer resources from Generation App (http://bit.ly/30DaysWin8).
What is a Windows Application Developer Workshop?
Windows Application Developer Workshops provide an opportunity for developers to learn about Windows 8 and Windows Phone application development in an environment combining lecture and hands-on. Organized and run by Microsoft Technical Evangelists and area community experts, it's a great way to get started and keep up the momentum toward getting applications into the Windows Store.
