Boston Vegetarian Meetup Pages

Most of us will discuss the vegan restaurant food and where vegetarians dine elsewhere. But we'll also discuss what's happening to vegetarians, the businesses that support vegetarians, and our future in this world - will our way of live and values "inherit the earth" or will they and we be smothered by violence and oppression and callous insensitivity?

Everyone with an interest in this range of topics should attend any and all our events.
Of course, newcomers are welcome, but newcomers should prepare to join in the conversations, the getting-to-know-you activities, and the networking that's part of all that activity.

If veggies don't attend and return to the group ("attend again"), we will not extend our social circle, nor will be get to know each other better than superficially (and no one's deeper interpersonal needs will be met by the group).

Being a tire-kicking tourist has a place - elsewhere, but why not cultivate the kind of personality that builds one another up and thereby advances living by plant-based diets.

The REST OF US - NEED all the attendees to participate in our discussions, though attendees COULD just listen and lurk (lurk implies thinking, not merely hearing). However, the more we share, the more we enjoy the ~ two hours we spend together in a veggie environment.

How will we be found by newcomers and other attendees? Look for the happy, healthy vegetarians -- or ask the restaurant staff for the vegetarian meetup attendees. In a pinch, ask them for Maynard Clark; everyone seems to know Maynard Clark in an all-vegetarian or all-vegan venue.

Everyone is welcome, but the folks who WANT to come back time after time are likely themselves vegetarians who are looking for other vegetarians (not merely tire-kicking tourists who don't share vegetarian or vegan values). In other words, our REASON for building this vegetarian network is for vegetarians to find each other (rather than putting vegetarians on display for nonvegetarians to 'check out').
