The use of virtual reality equipment at location-based entertainment (LBVRE) venues is on the rise across the globe. Currently there are more than 800 locations worldwide where consumers can experience virtual reality outside of their home. B2B and consumer spending on virtual reality hardware, software, content, and related services at out-of-home entertainment venues will grow at a 50% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years to reach $1.2 billion in 2021. This is due to the rapid growth in LBVRE spending in Asia Pacific, which will account for nearly 70% of revenues globally by 2021.

There are several reasons to be encouraged about the developing LBVRE market, including the emergence of several leading venue operators and technology vendors, as well as distinctive channel economics. However, there are very real challenges that will limit market growth over the forecast period [masked]). These challenges include technology, content, and managerial issues.

It is a surprise to noone that we are in the midst of a virtual revolution. With new and improved headsets, software and VR tools coming to market all the time, it can be difficult to keep up with all of the innovation. As our lives move faster, we collaborate with other innovators globally to meet the demand for more powerful, smaller technology to support the latest and greatest VR development.

NextComputing responds to the need for hardware to support all of these demands simultaneously. NextComputing, with special guests Boris FX, creators of Mocha VR, will show you how to pull together all of these requirements and fulfill them with incredibly small computer systems, optimized for VR, enabling remote development and demo anywhere.

Boris FX & Imagineer Systems will present Mocha VR, a new software tool bringing high-end visual effects and post-production workflows to 360°/VR filmmaking. Based on Imagineer’s Academy Award-winning planar tracking algorithm, Mocha VR features native 360 optimized tracking, masking, object removal and horizon stabilization tools to empower the new generation of 360°/VR content creators.

NextComputing also proudly partners with OZO, AMD, Torus Media and Voysys and are in discussions with other VR innovators to continue to respond to the convergence of the VR, high performance, miniaturization, globalization and mobile lifestyle movements.
