Workshop: Building Windows Phone Apps (Part 2)
Hosted by Boston Tech Workshops
Details
In this second of two parts, we'll cover our conversation of how to build a Windows Phone application with topics such as tiles and notifications, accessing other applications on the phone via choosers, launchers, and activation, and integrating with the camera and sensors.
The lecture/instruction portion of the event is expected to last an hour, followed by 'free time' during which you can work on applications you may have in progress, exchange ideas and troubleshoot with fellow attendees, and get additional support from the Microsoft Technical Evangelists and other Windows Phone development experts!
Bring your laptop with Windows 8, the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 (http://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk), and Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 (http://www.microsoft.com/click/services/Redirect2.ashx?CR_CC=200115775)!
What is a Windows Application Developer Workshop?
Windows Application Developer Workshops provide an opportunity for developers to learn about Windows 8 and Windows Phone application development in an environment combining lecture and hands-on. Organized and run by Microsoft Technical Evangelists and area community experts, it's a great way to get started and keep up the momentum toward getting applications into the Windows Store.
