Workshop: Windows 8 Apps with C# / MonoGame (Part 1)
Details
In this first of two parts, we'll cover the basics of how to build a Windows 8 Game using C# and MonoGame, an open source implementation of Microsoft XNA API - including an overview of the application development process in Visual Studio and the Windows 8 process lifecycle.
The lecture/instruction portion of the event is expected to last an hour to 90 minutes, followed by 'free time' during which you can work on applications you may have in progress, exchange ideas and troubleshoot with fellow attendees, and get additional support from the Microsoft Technical Evangelists and other Windows 8 development experts!
Bring your laptop with Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 (http://aka.ms/mc_vse2012_windows8)!
What is a Windows Application Developer Workshop?
Windows Application Developer Workshops provide an opportunity for developers to learn about Windows 8 and Windows Phone application development in an environment combining lecture and hands-on. Organized and run by Microsoft Technical Evangelists and area community experts, it's a great way to get started and keep up the momentum toward getting applications into the Windows Store.
