Workshop: Windows 8 Apps with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS (Part 1)
Details
In this first of two parts, you'll learn how to build Windows 8 applications using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. We'll cover the basics of a Windows Store app and how to use Visual Studio 2012 and Blend to design and develop your apps.
[If you're interested in C# and XAML, there is a parallel class also at 1 Cambridge Center at the same time. Please see the other January 22/23 workshop for details.]
The lecture/instruction portion of the event is expected to last an hour to 90 minutes, followed by 'free time' during which you can work on applications you may have in progress, exchange ideas and troubleshoot with fellow attendees, and get additional support from the Microsoft Technical Evangelists and other Windows 8 development experts!
Bring your laptop with Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 (http://www.microsoft.com/click/services/Redirect2.ashx?CR_CC=200115729)!
What is a Windows Application Developer Workshop?
Windows Application Developer Workshops provide an opportunity for developers to learn about Windows 8 and Windows Phone application development in an environment combining lecture and hands-on. Organized and run by Microsoft Technical Evangelists and area community experts, it's a great way to get started and keep up the momentum toward getting applications into the Windows Store.
Visiting 1 Cambridge Center
When you arrive at 1 Cambridge Center, enter through the main glass entrance and proceed to the reception desk on the 2nd floor. Mention the JS/HTML5 class, and you'll be directed from there.
