Hello BWOC members! For our March Social, we're joining a fantastic open mic, featuring poet Justice Ameer (pictured above), at Cantab Lounge in Cambridge. Doors for the show open at 7:15pm. The open mic begins at 8:00pm (you have 3 minutes on stage) and the feature performs at approximately 10:00pm, with an open poetry slam to follow. The show is 18+ (ID required), and the cover charge is $3. More info here:

ATTENTION: Due to the popularity of the event and long lines, seats are expected to be limited (100 max at the venue). If you arrive between 6:30pm - 7:15pm and find Sonya or Serina, we will cover your charge. After 7:15pm, you'll be responsible for the $3 cover!

Rules for the open-mic:

Justice Ameer is a poet and performer based in Providence, Rhode Island whose work explores the experience of being a Black trans woman in a post-racial and potentially post-apocalyptic America. Xe has competed and featured at various poetry venues across the nation. Xe is a Pink Door fellow, FEM Slam Champion, and two-time Providence Grand Slam Champion.
