Image Makers is Boston’s collaborative network for fashion creatives. We are now partnering with RiversEdge Photographic Collective a 501c7 non-profit.
We bring together photographers, models, makeup artists, and designers to learn, shoot, and build standout portfolios together.
Whether you’re an emerging talent eager to learn or an experienced creative looking to collaborate, this is your space to sharpen your craft through hands-on experience.

Beginner Photography Course: Master Your Camera & Unleash Your Creativity
RiversEdge Photographic Collective, 143 Essex St, Haverhill, MA, USAre you ready to finally take your camera off "Auto" mode so You can Take Control of your camera? Join photographer Ron Ranere at the RiversEdge Photographic Collective for a hands-on, two-night beginner photography workshop designed to give you the confidence and technical skills to create stunning images.
Whether you just got your first camera or want to brush up on the fundamentals, this course is for you. We believe the best way to learn photography is by doing, so each of our two sessions is broken down into three parts. While some of these technical concepts might sound complicated at first, the primary purpose of this course is to break everything down into simple, easy-to-understand instruction. Each session balances clear explanations with dedicated shooting time in our studio, concluding with constructive feedback on the work produced that evening.:- Lecture: Clear, easy-to-understand instruction on the evening’s topics.
- Shooting: Supervised, hands-on time in our studio to practice what you just learned.
- Review: Constructive feedback and Q&A to see what worked and how to improve.
COURSE BREAKDOWN:
Night 1: Mastering Your Camera (Tuesday, Nov 10th)
We’ll demystify the buttons and dials on your camera so you have complete technical control.
*Exposure: Understanding the foundation of a properly lit photograph.- Aperture: Controlling depth of field (getting those beautiful blurry backgrounds).
*Shutter Speed: Freezing fast action or creating smooth motion blur.
- ISO: Managing your camera's sensitivity to light.
*Focus: Getting tack-sharp images every single time.
Night 2: The Art of the Image (Tuesday, Nov 17th). Now that you know how to use your camera, we’ll teach you how to make beautiful art.
- Composition: Framing your shots and the rules of visual design.
*Lighting: Seeing and using light to create mood and dimension.
- What Lens to Use: Understanding focal lengths and picking the right glass for the job.
What to Bring:
Bring your camera (DSLR or Mirrorless) or phone, a fully charged battery, an empty memory card, and a willingness to learn!
