What we're about

We are a fun and friendly group of people who identify with Generation X and enjoy socializing and meeting new people in the Boston area. We host monthly happy hours, as well as other events in and around Boston.

Most of our members range in age from 30s to 50s but anyone who brings a positive attitude is welcome. Don't worry if you don't know anyone -- someone is bound to introduce themselves to you. Or, find an event host/organizer, and we'll introduce you around. Suggestions for events and/or new venues are always welcome.

For everyone's safety and convenience, we require each member to use your real first name and an clearly identifiable photograph (no pets, avatars, or sunglasses) in your profile.

Cocktails at Carrie Nation

Carrie Nation Cocktail Club

Come join the GenX crowd at Carrie Nation! Located just steps from the State House on Beacon St, Carrie Nation is a speakeasy throwback to the days of Prohibition. We’ve had a great time here before so lets try it again. Closest T stops are Park Street and Government Center. For parking there are metered spots around the Common, the Boston Common garage on Charles St and several smaller lots in the Government Center area. We'll be in the back room, past the long bar and down the hall that opens up into the space with the lounge tables. Ask the front desk if you're unsure of where to go. Of course, you can come and go as you please and stay as late as you want. Hope you can join us! http://www.carrienationcocktailclub.com/

Picasso film at the MFA

Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Let's take a field trip to the MFA! The MFA is currently running a screening of a film that chronicles the early years of Picasso, Young Picasso. We'll meet in the cafe across from the Remis Auditorium where the film is shown beforehand. If there's interest afterwards, we can take a walk to a cafe nearby for coffee and conversation. Parking is available in the garage across from the museum at 20 Museum Rd. There are a limited number of metered spots on the street as well. Nearest T stop is MFA on the green E line. Tickets are $13, available online or in person. I recommend giving yourself a little extra time. I visited the MFA recently and it took a while to get through will call, coat check, find the auditorium, etc. Once the film starts, the usher behind the fuzzy red rope won't let you in. Gather in the cafe beforehand starting at 12:30, film starts at 1:00. Hope to see you there! https://www.mfa.org/programs/series/exhibition-on-screen-young-picasso
