Welcome to the Boston Area IAM User Group Meeting!
We are pleased to announce the next Boston Area IAM User Group Meeting! Please join us for an afternoon of incredible technical content, food and drinks in the Boston Seaport District. We will provide a forum for networking, best practices, and an open exchange of ideas between IAM professionals. Come prepared to gain insight from some of the leaders in the IAM community. Most importantly, Please recommend this event to your IAM friends and colleagues! We will have two speakers from the City of Boston who will discuss: City of Boston’s Journey to 21st Century IAM Back in 2016 the City of Boston started a multi-year capital project to replace their aging Oracle Identity Management Suite with a new Identity & Access Management system. Three separate “best in class” tools were selected: Sailpoint’s Identity IQ, the Ping Identity tools and Radiant Logic FID to create a new IAM ecosystem. Along with our implementation partner, Likeminds Consulting, we started on a journey to implement these tools to secure the City’s technology systems while providing convenient and reliable access for our employees. Greg McCarthy (CISO) and Gretchen Grozier (IAM Project Manager) will provide a recap of their journey into a modern Identity and Access management program and update on their progress post-golive. Greg McCarthy is the Chief Information Security Officer for the City of Boston. He has been with the IT Security group at the City for 8 years, previously holding the IT Security Project Manager role. During his tenure he has managed the implementation of numerous information security solutions and helped develop the City's first Cyber Security Awareness Program for employees. Prior to joining the City of Boston, Greg spent five year as a Principal Research Technician at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. Greg holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and a graduate degree in Information Assurance, both from Northeastern University. He has also earned Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA, a graduate certification in Project Management from Boston University, and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Gretchen Grozier is the IAM Project Manager for the City of Boston. Prior to this project at the City, she worked on the rollout of the Enterprise Identity & Access Management Program at Harvard University. She has also served as a Project Manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working to deploy a set Enterprise Tools, one of which was an IAM solution. Prior to becoming a roving IAM PM, Gretchen worked in IT and Evaluation roles at Children’s Services of Roxbury and the Home for Little Wanderers. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of New Hampshire and her graduate degree is from Boston University (in topics not at all relevant to her career!) More agenda to follow! ***** Vendors are welcome to attend with their clients/prospects *****
