Why did you join this group?

I've always enjoyed the hell outta anime but the bulk of my Boston friends tend to not be fans. Plus I hate watching stuff alone. The result is me being an anime fan who is criminally undercultured. I'm looking to remedy this and meet some other people of a similar nerd-caliber as myself.

What is your favorite Anime, Japanese Film, or Manga? Why?

Not having seen Gurren Lagann is its own punishment. (Especially since you also can't appreciate Double K (, a serial webcomic that rehashes the intellectual property out as an homage/parody of 80's buddy cop flicks.) But if I had to sentence any actual punishment? - This'll do.

What would you like to see or do with this meetup group? What would you watch? Where would you go? Etc.

We procure a projector and a place outside where we can screen something agreeable, possibly some staple that I'm not even familiar with yet (newb! warned you!). We have a cookout and we watch said flick. Oh, and the weather cooperates because this is fantasyland-and-whathaveyou. Probably a goose egg on the feasibility scale, but tell me it wouldn't kick ass. >_>

How often do you watch/read Anime, Japanese films, and/or Manga?

Occasional/recreational user, I guess? Probably the equivalent of a social drinker. (Like I said, I don't care much for watching stuff alone.) Also, I generally get scared off by large bodies of work to the extent of, say, let's use Bleach as an example. I've just heard horror stories about the sheer amount of filler.

Tell us a random fact about you or a comical story.

I don't think I have a solid fact or story that could fill this box, so here's just a slew of tidbits about me that hopefully add up to something worth mentioning: - I'm related to Mark Twain. Somehow. No idea how to draw the family tree up, but someone on my paternal grandmother's side was a Clemens. - I help author indie DLC for the Rock Band series via the Rock Band Network. I've worked on songs by Anarchy Club, Left Spine Down, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Eden's Curse featuring James LaBrie of Dream Theater, and many others. - I also write and play music. I'd say I was in a band if said band had any other members (it will soon, though!), but I am in the process of recording an album. - I graduated from Berklee, and took two semesters of Japanese. Unfortunately, my knowledge on the language doesn't go much deeper than "Kanji is goddamned brutal". - I was in an anime club in middle school, but WOW my memories of that are hazy.

Howdy! My name's Dack, I just moved back to Boston fairly recently and am looking for some good people to watch some good animes with. :D As I'll get into later, I'm a little out of practice, otaku-wise, but looking to get back up to speed.
