Deep Tech Meetup #4

Hello Bot-Enthusiasts,

This will be our fourth meetup with a strong focus on tech and research. The speaker is encouraged to show equations and code. The talk will be 30 mins + Q&A, so there will be plenty of time for discussions.

Spoken dialogue systems enable human computer interaction via speech as the primary input. One of the main challenges that such systems face is adequately tracking a probability distribution over concepts that are mentioned in the dialogue and also choosing the right response. Most current approaches have difficulty scaling up with domains because of the dependency of the model parameters on the dialogue concepts. Moreover, they choose between a very small number or responses. Dr Gašić will talk about a recent project that addresses these issues using distributed word representations, deep learning and deep reinforcement learning.
