R Meet Up

Details
This is our first R meet up. We will meet up to officially launch the R Users Group in Botswana. Our guest is Dr. Heather Turner. She is a freelance programmer and Honorary Research Fellow of the Statistics Department at the University of Warwick, UK. Heather has been R user since 2001 and is co-author of several R packages.
Dr. Heather Turner is on the board of the R Foundation and chairs the R Forwards taskforce for underrepresented groups in the R community. She is also the co-organizer of R-Ladies Remote.
Her visit to Botswana is part of her tour to Southern Africa aimed at advancing the use of R in underrepresented regions. Her visit Botswana coincides with our effort to officially launch our R user group in Botswana.
Heather will talk to us about how people are using R in their work, resources available to self-learn and how we can grow the R community. Earlier in the day Heather will conduct a workshop on Introduction to R and Data visualization in conjunction with Pydata and Women in Machine Learning and Data Science. The event will start at 9am at the same venue and you are encouraged to attend. Heather will meet us afterwards at 4pm. To attend the workshop, please Rsvp on Pydata or Women in Machine Learning and Data Science meetup pages.
