My background in Android is two-fold: I have experience with coding for the underlying platform as well as app development. For many years, I've developed low-level C (and some assembly) code such as device drivers and video/graphics routines for Linux-based consumer electronics. Naturally, in recent years, many of these devices have been Android devices. I also develop Android apps as needed. As a simple example, I've published a free app to the Android Market called "Valence" which turns your phone into a remote control for any computer that is capable of running a VNC server. The reviews of the app have been positive. (The open source code is available on my GitHub.) My work has mostly been for distant clients. Since I'd like to foster connections with the local tech scene, I'm especially interested in hearing about opportunities to work on projects here in Colorado.
Hi, I'm a freelance software engineer specializing in consumer electronics. I'm looking forward to hearing about all the exciting things people are doing with Android in Boulder.
This meetup is big enough to have people with varied backgrounds, expertise, and goals, but small enough to allow manageable conversations with other people interested in Android development.
