What we're about

Eliana Salter is a survivor, grief coach, speaker and author who shares the many strategies that helped her overcome the loss of her mother, father and first husband in a car accident where she was the only survivor. This trauma forced her to confront her terrifying fears, insecurities and clinical depression in a myriad of ways, that became learnings, deep wisdom and unique insights that she now shares with the community in these public meetups, open to everyone. Drawing from neuroscience, Jungian shadow work, EFT, and her own deep experiences "walking out of hell", she is funny, compassionate and wise. She has saved marriages, sanity and lives with her work over the last decade, and invites you to consider the possibility that, if she can heal, and be happy again, so can you.
Who do you know going through a crisis, stuck or just curious how to help someone who is? All welcome.

Therapeutic Mastermind:
How to Cope and Thrive in the COVID19 Times

A weekly therapeutic mastermind on how to best deal with the new emotional and social landscape in front of us. Our collective solidarity, humor, wisdom and knowledge is our best resource to thrive together.

As people, we tend to deal with uncertainty on a daily basis, and so have some basic resilience and flexibility. But every single person on the planet now needs to reassess their basic assumptions about "how things work" and try and adapt to a coming primal shift in how things will work going forward, including how millions of people who thought they understood things will now react under stress. Many will and are seeking to benefit from and manipulate the fear, (including gaslighting us that this is not serious or is temporary). This Mastermind is intended to take the best thoughts, resources and connections of the community and begin to form a smart support group to help us all navigate through the coming dishevel, chaos and disruption, to help bring and find solutions that work not just for us, but for all.

Some of the primary dimensions of the challenges we will be addressing:

Fear:
The latest neuroscience (as illuminated in books like "Your Brain at Work", "Never Split the Difference" and "Thinking Fast and Slow") show us ways that our social network is primal to our survival, and how disruptions, abuse or distortions to that network can trigger us (and very importantly, the people around us) very irrationally. Understanding these subconscious social dynamics and how they tap peoples survival buttons will help us all manage or at least understand our own fears and those of our families, business partners, employees, and friends. We will be tested psychologically, and socially, and a good grounding of the evolutionary brain's landscape helps us navigate the coming seeming irrationality in the world. (BTW, the author of one of the books won the Nobel Prize for Economics). Eliana has dealt personally with PTSD, panic attacks, depression, agoraphobia and more, and has coached many others out of deep despair and hopelessness. She has many tools that she has tested and used to immediately help people gain some control and reframe in a way that gives them a way out of panic and fear.

Control:
Habit gives us the illusion of control, of the familiar. All our habits are now being disrupted, altered, or even disappearing. One of our primary psychological needs is certainty, so finding new ways to gain control of our lives, our thoughts, our fears is essential for us to manage the coming stress. We are being forced into new habits, but we can choose to embrace healthier mental habits as well, what we call "guided neuroplasticity". This is not simply a matter of "will", it is a "practice" that soon becomes a new habit. We will explore how we can mitigate stress, and regain some control over our disrupted lives, and help others do the same.

Reframing and Discovery
The paradox of our social isolation is that we must find NEW ways to connect, to express friendship, love and community. This is a discovery process for about 300 million people, and we intend to be at the forefront of bringing proven psychological tools, the best of wisdom traditions and the latest neuroscience to the table, so we can all come out of this new adventure better than we were before.
