Do you love to write but have a hard time getting started? This is the group for you! It's like going to the gym for your creative/writing life. We are not a literary critique group, but a generative writing group in a supportive, facilitated environment. All levels of writing experience welcome.
Format: Every group begins with a short, guided meditation to help you calm and center. Afterwards, you will receive a guided writing prompt followed by a timed writing session, giving you the time and space to let your words flow. You will receive support as you write your stories, embracing your full creative potential.
Facilitator: Ashley Shires. I have a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from CU, and I've studied with self-reflective writers including Lucia Berlin, Cheryl Strayed and Dani Shapiro. I have attended conferences including the Tin House Writers’ Conference, Aspen Summer Words and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. I completed my yoga teacher training in 2002 with Richard Freeman, and I have studied mindfulness through The Greater Good Science Center at UC-Berkeley.
