This is an Improvising Music Learning Collective, for Beginners to Experts! It will help you learn to COMMUNICATE THROUGH IMPROVISING, rather than just soloing. It can be done by anyone at any level, whether it's in improvisational singing of "Twinkle Twinkle," the great slide & lead guitar interplay in the middle of the Allman's "One Way Out," (3:02 into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr1dPUoLqMM ) or the fantastic solo sax Coltrane-Sonny Rollins dialogue in "Tenor Madness" (8:35 into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MkUvZUTFUc ). We'll do playful jamming exercises such as "pass the lead solo" where your listening, responsiveness and presence in the moment is the priority. This Meetup is based on: 1) 45 years of experience jamming in blues, rock, folk, country and some jazz, 2) the teachings of a workshop I did with Jim Scott of the Paul Winter Consort, 3) the exciting "trading riffs" and "trading 4's" that you hear occasionally in music, 4) improvisational theater, and 5) the modeling of the Conduction process ( http://jadeane.com/blog/sun-06122016-1221 ). The point will not be whether you sound like someone who has never played or sung before, or Beethoven. Your creativity as a musician and person will be enhanced, and: it'll be fun!
