What we're about

COVID Updates:

----- Aug 17, 2020

We are excited to say that we have had a lot of interest from folks for starting up in-person runs again, especially from some first-time attendees! Ever since I’ve been a part of the group, the BPCR has always been a place where people new to the area could make new friends and join a community that tolerates running so they can drink more beer. Unfortunately, the nature of our group does not easily lend itself to meeting during a pandemic so we are going to be implementing some temporary changes so we can start running together again in a socially responsible manner while keeping group members safe.

1) Our group size will be limited to 6 attendees for now. Depending on interest levels, we may have two separate groups run (split up into two separate group led by each of our hosts).

2) Due to the limited size, we will be confirming RSVPs before the run.

3) We will be starting runs at parks instead of at pubs to allow us to maintain the recommended social distancing while socializing before and after the runs.

We will also be asking members to help us by following a few guidelines, which we are all familiar with by now:

1) Bring a mask you can tolerate running in.

2) If you haven’t lived here for two weeks yet, please wait to sign up for runs.

3) If you have been exposed to someone with or are exhibiting systems of COVID, we ask that you not join our run for two weeks out of concern for the safety of others.

4) If you do sign up for a run but later find out you can’t make it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can open up a slot for another member.

I know nothing says fun like a bunch of rules, but we want both group members and the community to feel safe with our club running through the streets of Boulder. Feel free to message any of the hosts with questions, concerns, or suggestions in regard to our starting back up. We look forward to see you all again!

We meet somewhere in Boulder and go on a 5k run at a casual pace, then head back to our starting point to grab beers and hang out!

Runs always begin from the entrance area of that week's venue.

This is a social pace run club. Our goal is to strike an easy, conversational pace (generally 9 - 10 minutes/mile) and enjoy each other's company!

Sometimes also host long runs and adventure runs/hikes on the weekends. Our long runs are open to runners of all pace groups - if necessary we split up into pace groups, but we all start and finish together!

Most regular runners tend to just show up and don't RSVP on meetup, but if you're new it's nice to know if you're coming and if something happens you can message the group on the dates specific event page, like "I'm going to be 15 min late, I'll miss the run but I'll show up for the social"

Monday Run starting at Barker Park!

Emma Gomez Martinez Park

COVID UPDATE: If you have been traveling lately or have been attending events with large groups of people, we suggest you refrain from attending these runs for 14 days afterwards. If you have symptoms or are just feeling off, we ask that you do not come to the runs for 14 days after the symptoms. Please work with us as we try to keep our surrounding community and each other safe during this pandemic. The Boulder Pub Run Club is a fun run. About a 5 km run. No drop run, if you run slow, one of us in the group will be there to run with you. We will be Barker Park @ 6:00 pm near the basketball court in the grassy area. Look for a circle of runners. Bring your own beverage for post-run mingling! COVID update: please remember to bring a mask. During these runs we often pass through streets and neighborhoods where the residents would feel more comfortable if the group was wearing a mask. Sometimes we change venues. In winter: Bring a headlamp, but you don't need one. We will run a route that won't need spikes.
