Flattop Mountain + Hallett Peak (RMNP) *DAY HIKE*

Details
This is a weekend day hike of Flattop Mountain, an iconic peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. Starting from the trailhead at Bear Lake in RMNP, we'll hike approximately 4.5 miles up stunning Tyndall Gorge to the summit of this rather flat topped mountain. At the summit, as usual, there are stunning views of the surrounding peaks including Meeker and Longs.
If time/conditions permit, we can even head over to neighboring Hallett Peak.
Trail guides rate the hike as a "strenuous" due to the fairly steep and rocky trail. Given that it is mid November, there could be snow/ice on the trail, so definitely have traction (i.e. microspikes) with you. Please dress appropriately for winter conditions also.
The total distance is roughly 9 miles and the vertical gain is roughly 2800'.
Bad weather cancels! Also we'll keep an eye on the forecast via this website
