Red River Gorge Hiking Weekend

Let's head over to Red River Gorge for a weekend of hiking. A two night minimum hostel stay is required for sign up ($30 total). Please refer to the itinerary below:
F R I D A Y
We will carpool from Bowling Green to Pilot Knob State Nature Preserve for a hike to the summit of Pilot Knob. This 730-foot-high knob provides an outstanding panorama of three regions of Kentucky: the Bluegrass, the Knobs, and the Cumberland Plateau.

Travel Time: 3 Hours, 190 miles
Trail Description: Oscar Geralds Jr. Trail, 2.4 miles, approx. 2 hours

Hike #1: Auxier Ridge Trail to Courthouse Rock, Haystack Rock and Double Arch, 6.1 mile loop, 4-5 hours. Pack a lunch. Map Here (http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=5434)
Location: At the end of Tunnel Ridge Road, Slade, KY
Trail Rating: Moderate
Elevation Gain: Minimal
Hike #2: Chimney Top Rock (http://toredrivergorge.com/10-top-easy-walks/chimney-top-rock/), .6 round trip, 1/2 hour.
Hike #3: Half Moon Arch (http://toredrivergorge.com/10-top-easy-walks/half-moon-arch/), .6 round trip, 1/2 hour.

S U N D A Y
Time: Depart the hostel at 9:00 AM
Visit the suspension foot bridge over the Red River on the Sheltowee Trace.
Hike #1: Gray's Arch Loop (http://toredrivergorge.com/top-10-day-hikes/grays-arch-area/long-greys-arch-loop-4-miles/), 4.0 miles, 2 to 3 hours
Lunch at Miguel's Pizza (http://www.miguelspizza.com/), 1890 Natural Bridge Rd, Slade, KY 606-663-1975
Head home, taking the Red River Gorge Scenic Byway.

F O O D
Bring enough food for breakfast each morning and lunch for Saturday along with plenty of high energy snacks.
H O S T E L
There is a full bath upstairs in the hostel for showers and (2) half baths downstairs. They do not serve breakfast but there is a small kitchen area with a hot plate, toaster oven, toaster, microwave and mini fridge.
