A Budapest Science Meetup azért lett, hogy legyen egy hely, ahol kutatók mesélhetnek tudományról, nem csak (sőt, főleg nem) szakmabelieknek. Minden egyes meetup-on a meghívott előadók röviden szólnak új eredményeikről, távlati terveikről, vagy éppen aktuális tudományos érdekességekről. Tudományfilozófiától elektronikáig, mikrobiológiától csillagászatig minden terítékre kerül. Az előadásokat követő beszélgetéseken konkrét kutatásokról, kutatói létről vagy bármilyen, a tudományhoz akár csak lazán kapcsolódó témáról is szó eshet, csak rajtatok múlik.
Budapest Science Meetup was founded as a place where scientists can talk about their work in front of not just other researchers, but a public audience. At each meetup the invited scientists talk about their latest results, long term research plans or popular science topics. Themes range from genetics to astronomy, linguistics to mathematics. After the presentations, there are usually free-flowing discussions about research questions or other topics loosely connected to science.
At Budapest Science Meetup, all presentations are conducted in Hungarian. Our special English language meetups, Budapest Science Meetup+ lectures are announced separately. If there is sufficient interest, we plan to organize multiple English language events per year.
A Budapest Science Meetup jelenlegi helyszíne az MTA Könyvtár és Információs Központ, minden hónap második csütörtökjén este 7-től.
